Inner City Grit is an independent label and creative collective founded in Bristol U.K in 2008. We specialise in showcasing a wide range of interesting, experimental and underground European music. We have a strong do it yourself ethic and drive and promote cutting edge music that we like, regardless of the genre or setting. We are organic and believe art and music should be too.
ICG formed as a platform to release and promote the music we enjoyed and quickly evolved to stage live events, ICG Soundsystem (electronic/bass-culture) nights and European tours for our artists to gain exposure for the underground music we believe in, whilst always treating the artist and fan ethically in the process. We also host a monthly podcast; ICG Radio, to help promote the incredible music we enjoy. We like to work and collaborate with like-minded switched on self-empowered independent individuals.
If your musical tastes, styles and ideologies are a kin to ours then please get in touch. We would like to hear from artists, photographers, film makers, activists, musicians, free thinkers and free speakers.
Lets try and make a difference.

Inner City Grit Records is extremely excited to present our new compilation album for 2012;
‘ICG 4: Transgression’
An on-going progression from our first 3 compilations, ‘ICG 4: Transgression’ is a warped and inverted electronic dimension. It showcases future electronic experimentalism, bass culture and dub ambience with musical influences pulled backwards through the future.
The various artists featured present new undefined forms welded together by a plethora of backwards ambience, diverse new beats and contorted bass. Genres become mashed into abstract styles, processed into new forms. Rendering genre label’s redundant; this compilation is simply about ‘good experimental music’ regardless of buzz words or hype.
Featuring new artists as well as familiar names with deeper variance, fluidity and challenging new idea’s with fantastic contributions from UK, Netherlands, Belgium, Norway and USA.
If you are bored and disillusioned with the same old contrived processed music being pumped into your life, ICG4: transgression is a refreshing alternative to the daily drone.
