J.O'Brien

About J.O'Brien

After moving to New York City in 1996 Jerome O'Brien quickly became the "dependable" bass player within the Lower East Side postpunk scene. He has performed and/or recorded with Michael Gira, Devendra Banhart, Kid Congo Powers, Jerry Teel, The Knoxville Girls, Reid Paley Trio, Mi & L'au, Douce Gimlet and many others. The songs available here were written and performed solely by J.O'Brien and are examples of the wry wit and sincerity he has been known for since forming his own rotating cast of fellow sidemen known as The Dog Show in 1998.
